Kile and Hanna – Couples photos in Hawaii

In about a month Kile and I will have been married for 13 years. And we have never had couples photos. I know, I know. I’m a photographer. But the shoemaker never has shoes and apparently photographers are never in the photos themselves. So when an unexpected opportunity came up for us to spend a week in Maui, we decided it was time.

Finding a photographer wasn’t hard because I already loved and follow one that lives on Maui. We worked out a deal, I take her photos, she takes mine and we edit our own. Gosh, I am so glad she was down because meeting her in person was one of my favorite parts of this trip. Alicia with The Captured Experience is THE NICEST person and we immediately hit it off. I felt like I not only got some amazing images to work with, but I made a new friend.

And the session? So stinking fun. She immediately put my nerves to rest because for the first time in years I was nervous to start a session. When your whole lifestyle is taking photos, jumping on the other side of the camera is super trippy. But gosh. Didn’t need to stress because we basically just laughed non-stop.

I knew these photos would mean something to me, but I didn’t realize just how much. The time I have spent editing has filled my heart. This is so us. She captured it. Our laughter. Our play. Our friendship. Our sexy. Our connection. I mean, we look pretty stinking GOOD together. Because we are good together. For better or worse. In the hard times and in the good. Love is all.

I love you, Kile Dean. Happy almost anniversary. Thanks for being my lover and my friend. And thanks for being willing to take your shirt off in the pics. Ya look hot.
