You wont ever hear us call ourselves boring, not only will you get amazing photos + learning opportunities but you will have a blast doing it!

meet your Team

When I lift my camera I feel like I become the best version of myself. I forget about all my problems, my insecurities. When I lift my camera I get to be anyone at all: a beauty hunter, a friend, an artist, a storyteller. I love that escape. I love that freedom.

What do you love most about photography?

1

Heidi

Sometimes I wonder if it is the art I love or if it's the art with Heidi. I don't think I can separate those things anymore. Running a business, building the  beauty together has been one of my deepest joys in life. People ask us if we fight: NO! Not since we were little kids! We are all two halves of one, for sure.

What is it like working with your sister?

2

Hanna

They're not. It's a lot of pressure for us because it really is less about the subject and more about the artist; the potter, sitting at her wheel, bent over with purpose. It is our job to find the light, the whispers of beauty, the soft places in a person. Photogenic just means honest and real and raw.

Why are your clients always so photogenic?!

3

Heidi

Details that you would otherwise forget and maybe not even see if you weren't looking: the hair thrown back and whipping wildy in the wake of laughter, rain clinging to a man's 5 o'clock shadow, the long bat of eyelashes, the crumpled up face of a newborn, first waking to the world.

What is your favorite thing to photograph?

4

Hanna

This is tough because no matter how epic a location is, we have learned that great light trumps location. And great people trump great light. So, the best photos are made when you photograph people who are happy to be there, are in the moment, are with you. But also, mountains. Because Alaska.

WHat is your favorite location to shoot at?

5

Heidi

I have seven + Heidi has three, so it is kind of wild sometimes. Just like all the other ladies out there, I have mom-guilt when I work a lot. But photography has been my way to be present the most often. My kids have grown up being told to get dirty, run amuck, laugh hard! The camera is up and we have to capture it all!

What is it like being a momographer?!
