Maddox + Keza

One of my (Hanna) goals this season has been to make sure to carve out enough time to photograph my own family. The Relic schedule is NUTS in the summer and with a 9 person family…there is a lot going on. Sometimes in the height of busy season we all get a little lost in the mix.

Recently I woke Maddox and Keza up at the crack of dawn to make time when I had none, and drove to Anchorage to have a just-for-fun session that I knew their teenage hearts would love. They did love it. And so did I.

I was thinking while editing these photos that photography really and truly is my love language. When things get stale or stagnant in my own heart or in my relationships, art is my answer. It’s fuel for me. It’s my way of loving others and loving my own self without having to use words. This session filled me up again, when I was running a little low on gas.
